How can you tell? is it the head?

Also, if you looked at the other pics, did you notice her(?) tail? The tip looked like scar tissue, will that go away, or will i be able to identify her by that, should i ever run across her again? That would be cool to get more pics of her someday and see how she looks.

We also saw a baby gila there last year about this time, maybe a little later, and he was a pretty little one, very bright pink and probably no bigger than 5-6" snout to tail. It was very mad at us for walking down it's path and showed us his mouth while he hissed louder than the big one did! :)
