He/she has had them for a long time with no noticable side affects but I want to get rid of them. I first noticed them when he started coughing them up, which happens periodicaly. They are very long and thread like and clear. Does any one have a good suggestion on an over the counter cure?
:I'm not an amphibian expert, but generally tapeworms are treated with praziquantal for reptiles which can usually be obtained at feed & supply stores. Dosage has to be extremely accurate with amphibians due to sensitivity. Due to the large burden of these parasites, "'coughing-up worms'", I would highly suggest to have a vet that is familiar with amphibians check-out the problem; otherwise, the dead remains that are expelled orally or intestinally, can be fatal. It will probably take longer than usual to rid this high quantity of parasites.
