:: Hi, My basalisk is all mest up around the mouth from rubbing against the mesh cage, what do you think I should do to stop it from getting worse?

:
:Mouth rot is not caused by an injury. It looks like a fungus that may appear as light or dark colored on the inside of the animals mouth. Often described as a cheesy looking.

:Rostral trauma is common in many species of larger fast moving lizards. I would sugest using glass, plastic, or something opaque on most sides like a vision cage. This is most often a problem with lizards that don't have enough room. How big/old is your basilisk? What size is the cage? As for healing, just try to keep the wound clean it may scar but hopefully you can avoid infection. He will not heal at all unless the cage conditions are changed! Good luck and let us know how things turn out.
:

It is a 65 gallon mesh cage. he is abot 30 in from head to tail.
