What's the correct taxonomy??

This is something I've been wondering for a while now. I've seen green tree pythons listed as both Morelia viridis and Chondropython viridis, but which is correct?? Clearly the same animal cannot be a member of two separate genuses. Not being a GTP owner perhaps one of you could clear this up for me. Thanks,
