Since I've seen a couple of posts about melamine fumes lately I did some more research. Melamine only gives off these fumes at temps higher than you would ever keep boids.

From what I found, it only gives off fumes when heated to decompisition. Melamine becomes unstable when maintained at temps of ~140+*F for a period of 2 weeks or more so there's nothing to worry about.

:ive read that melamine, if heated to a certain temp., can release formaldahyde in toxic levels. how far is this true? and if this is true why the heck are people selling cages made from this material? best regards to all.-darren leavitt
