They're active... just not when you are... and if a snake that might bite is a bad thing (btw, though I've only dealt with one GTP, it was really a fairly calm snake) you might want to stay away from Gonyosoma and Ahaetulla. The Rhynchophis and Elaphe prasina, I don't really know anything about the temperaments of... Elaphe prasina are certainly the niftier snakes, though...
