Try to do as much research as possible before you buy a snake. What has made you choose a rainbow boa? Just curious. There are so many kindsof snakes out there. If you are set on a boa, go to the boa forums and get as much info as possible first. Oh...as for the smell...the rest of the gang is right on...practically not an issue at all if you keep good clean enclosures. Which you will want to anyway for the sake of your snake. Even the aspen barely smells, IMO, although I have heard that if it gets wet and stays wet it is smelly. Good luck, and let us know about your new pet when it arrives. Duffy
