When I got back from my trip, I noticed that my argentine's left eye looked a little strange. The scales around the eye were swollen and puffy and the eye itself was a little cloudy. I'm pretty sure he's not in a shed cycle.

I looked closer and noticed that there were tiny little mites running around the eye and going underneath the scales around the eye. I'm so concerned! But they aren't actually going in the eye are they? There is no access because the scale covering the eye is one piece, that is, connected to the other scales on his head, correct?

Do I need to get him to a vet ASAP?

Any comments greatly appreciated.

Dimitri
