I've used BK on all of my collection and I use it on every single new snake that comes in. I've never had a problem with mites since. The snakes seem to do fine. I've used it on snakes as big as adult JCPs and as small as baby corns. I just put them in a sterile, well ventilated holding rubbermaid and spray a small puff. Just enough to slightly "fog" it up.
In my opinion, BK is better than Provent-A-Mite in terms of sheer effectiveness and safety. I have heard of far more deaths from Provent-A-Mite than BK. I at first was very reluctant to try out BK but when I talked to VPI and Pro Exotics about it, I went ahead and purchased it. I'm very pleased with its performance to date. Now I'm not saying there could be the occasional death or injury but its a danger with any product used to kill animals.
