: what is the world coming to? The only thing wrong with what you have on them is that as they get older (yearlings and older) they become much easier to hold and become much slower moving. They will always be a snake that you want to keep your eyes on, though. If you decide to go with a cornsnake, make sure to buy "The Cornsnake Manual" by Bill and Kathy Love and read it before getting your snake. Heck, if you are even thinking about getting a cornsnake, buy the book. It is only about 10-12 bucks at Petsmart.

So many people consider them good beginers snakes that I COULDNT omit them, PERSONAL feelings aside!:) lol But, as you can see they are not on the top of the list. I beleive that slower moveing snakes are easier for children, which doesnt fit the corns when little, but could as they become older. My position is still the same(The earth is still in its proper orbit)
