Hi,

thats not a G. flavigularis but a male G. nigrolineatus. They get bigger than the yellow throateds but hardly ever exceed 20". They can get old:I have one since 1984!
Many will never eat any vegetarian matter, but some will. Try ripe banana, mango and the like. But if he does not eat it, no problem.
