i want to replace the substrate for my plated. i was going to use calci sand or bone aid...but it is way to expensive here. i was thinking about using play sand. the stuff at the hardware store (similar to home depot, but the canadian version) is made by SHAW, is very fine, almost like sugar, and is washed with no salt. any ideas if this will be safe to use? he does tend to ingest some of his substrat when diving for crickets, but very little of it.. i was kinda worried about impaction. any ideas guys??
