The largest anaconda reported and confirmed by a U.S geologist team was 37 feet . From one tree at its nose to the tree at the tip of its tail was 37 feet .As you can imagine it could not be handled, If it had been subdued it would have measured 50 ft . Weather or not this is a relative of the anaconda or a thought to be extinct speices of snake is unsure. Within the surounding jungle marsh there where ruts made by snakes that a 55 gallon drum would slide through. There is still a bigger one out there.

: : : : : : I thought I would have my say in this matter as a 18 year old, good enough to be zoologist.

: : : : : The longest recorded reptile in the world IS the reticulated python (Phython reticulatus), the record length is 10m (32ft 9.5 in) for a specimen shot in Celebes, Indonesia in 1912. The saltwater croc. (Crocodylus porosus) has several unauthenticated reports of specimens up to 33ft in length. The largest lizard IS the Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis) recorded at being 10ft 2in long and weighed 166Kg (365lb).

: : : : : Hope I could help!!

: : : : Some president in the early 1900s offered a 50000 dollar reward for any snake found that was longer than 30 feet.As of yet, the reward has not been collected.

: : While reading these follow ups to the question of the worlds largest reptile, I found myself trying so hard not to laugh! The only accurate piece of information here is Dave's follow up. The worlds largest reptile IS the reticulated python which has met the record of 10 meters (yes, bigger than the anaconda!). The largest lizard IS the Komodo Dragon reaching not quite 4 meters. Crocodiles or Alligators are NOT the biggest reptiles recorded no matter what anyone tells you. The boa constrictor is NO WHERE NEAR the largest living reptile. Good job setting the record straight, Dave.
