odd gator question...

what color is gator vomit...i took my gator to a show today and i kept him in a plastic container when i took him out he was surrounded in a dark maroonish liquid that smelled terrible...i was hoping maybe he got "carsick" so to speak...is this uncommon when travelling with or shipping alligators...
