In my opinion, your basking temps are far too cool for american alligators; the water temp is okay but your basking area should provide temps in the 95-100 deg F. while also offering slightly cooler basking temps away from the heat lamp.


:What is the optimal temp for gators. I currently keep mine at a 80 degree basking area and a water temp at 75. He is doing really really well at this temp. What are the temps you guys are keeping your at??
