: garter snakes like frozen rats called pinkies and common garden worms, usually5 - 6 a week. They also like tadpoles and fish which you can get at any pet shop. Garter snakes need to be kept between 75 - 85 degrees, usually a 40 watt bulb will do. I hope this has helped you.
