They both look like wandering garters, t. e. vagrans, i have seen variations of their patterns like that. The ones here in Utah have the larger checker pattern, and the ones I've caught in Idaho have the smaller checker pattern. Also the belly colors vary by the area. :wanted to know if these snakes are two variants of western terrestrials or is one something else...link is to belly and head shots of each in order, plus a comparison shot...appreciate any help...still learning all I can about garters so I need an experts (or not lol) opinion...appreciate any all views on these and peace, Chris
