:Busts out a sheet of paper...

:Yep, Somewhere between thinking of buying a snow corn and spewing out fractions, I messed up. Score 1: DrZot.

:Ok, so in super-extended form (I didn't draw this thing for fun, ya know):

:If you breed erythristic and melanistic snakes together, assuming niether or het for the other trait (het = heterozygous = has a dominant and recessive gene for a trait. A normal snake het for erythrism shows normal markings because of the dominant gene, but can contribute a recessive gene to offspring):

:Generation 1:
:16 normals double het for erythrism and melanism.

:Breeding two of these together:
:1 normal
:2 normal het for erythrism
:2 normal het for melanism
:4 normal double het for both

:1 erythristic
:2 erythristic het for melanism

:1 melanistic
:2 melanistic het for erythrism

:1 melanistic and erythristic (this is what you were looking for)

:Kudos DrZot; I will now go put my head in a paper bag and shun myself.
