horned frog burrowing question..

My big Chacoan horned frog buries herself, completely under the substrate, but I hear her legs squeaking against the tank floor as though she wants to get even deeper. I have about 5 inches of substrate in there already, and she'll dig a hole, do the inevitable legs-scraping-tank-floor thing, and re-emerge only to re-bury herself again and so on. What can I do, short of putting her in a 50-foot-deep tank?
