For my leopard frogs, I took an easier approach to providing water. Since I am a small person, not a bodybuilder, it's tough for me to go around lifting heavy aquaria and carting them around from room to room. So I just use a water bowl (or in the case of the leo frogs, a deep tray that was once a dish pan.) I just dump the water into the garden daily, and refill it with clean tapwater (only because we have spring water, if you have chlorinated water, you have to age it.) I change the water every day, avoiding the need for filters, and never have a problem with it.
