As I have noted before when the question of mixing species comes up, the question is not whether it can be done, but whether it should be done. I maintain that even if you can keep a mixed tank running, you are still taking an increased risk.
Furthermore, all of the successful mixed tank stories that I've heard come from people like yourself, who have very extensive experience with the animals or animals in question... The fact that you are able to successfully mix these animals in a carefully researched and controlled environment doesn't necessarily mean that "mixing ADFs with fish is fine." It just means that you are skilled enough to make it work, even though it is a less than optimal situation.
That was a compliment, in a roundabout sort of way. =)
