: Humans are so genetically inbred and mutated, that we are far from native anywhere anymore. Licking a toad from North America i.e Bufo Alvarias, could most certainly be fatal. You are not a wild animal who is exposed to most biological things on a constant level. Your food is processed and you clean your body and teeth constanty. You don't ingest only things that come from the area you live, but always scrub veggies and cook most food. Point being, you are not a wild animal, and I don't care who tries to disagree with me on this, you don't fit out there. These animals are designed well, in that their defense is one of the most effective. If you eat one (chew one up whatever) chances are, your not going to be munching on another. This is natures way of saying "hey, don't mess with my toad" so just respect her and leave it alone. What kind of animal is so screwed in the head that it actually gets off on ingesting poison, molesting another animal because of its defensive properties. Not to mention the fact that no matter who you think you are, your from a terrible gene pool. You could easily have an allergic reaction to the poisons.

: Don't kill yourself to lick a toad.
: On a lighter note. I wonder if anyone has ever kissed Bufo Alvarias because of the fairytale and tripped?
: If there were an epidemic of Colorado river toads, there may be an epidemic of little kids running around watching trailers and gratefull dead bears. Actually, come to think of it, maybe the fairly tale is an eye witness account and this is its orignin. "I kissed the toad who turned into a prince... with two heads of all different colors." This could easily have evolved into the toad prince. :)
