you want it to be moist so that it can hold a tunnel--you may want to add some soil to the mixture to help it form better. you want to do this asap--females typically go down to dig and it is over quickly--if they dont find it suitable they can egg bind.

:I have a female that has been breeding for some time. She has been digging for about a day and a half but I only gave her about 8 inch of sand and it is dry. should it be wet and more sand? Also it is a lay container, there is no sand in the bottom of her cage. Thanks
