You're so lucky, I can only dream of finding a herp around my house. I caught curly tails in the Dominican Republic when I went there though. When I would catch them I would chase the little guy (or girl) to some cement wall or some other ruins, so it couldn't go anywhere but left, right, or up, then I would just put my hands down quickly, one in front of it and one behind, then scoop it up. If it scatters up something grab a small plastic cup and gently place it over it quickly (Note: I did this with small ones, with large ones you would obviously need a larger container if you do not want to injure them). I am assuming you live in Florida? You can legally collect introduced animals there, am I right? It should make an interesting pet. Good luck!
