J.Easter and I checked out the boards in the wildlife area, there was nothing. It was getting late in the day, rainy and cold. But at the gorge the weather was fantastic. Iam thinking in a week or two the gorge should be really kicking, if the weather holds up. Thanks for the reply! And good herpin to you!

Wolverton:
: Not certain where you are from but all of our local species of lizards and snakes have been available for considerable time in the Corvallis area. Overcast conditions and rain are not important factors for finding our local reptiles at this time of year.

: Went out on the 12th to some of my field sites with totally overcast conditions and frequent rain showers (got pretty wet). Besides the target species (Rubber Boa), of which I found 11 males and 4 females, I observed a Racer, 2-3 Gopher Snakes, a good number of Northwestern Garter Snakes, my first Ringneck Snake of the year, and three S. All. Lizards.

: Had I gone to some other sites, I am certain would have observed the two other species of snakes in this area that I did not encounter on Saturday, the Red-spotted Garter Snake and Sharp-tailed Snake.

: Over all, probably still a little early. The trip was nearly a bust. We did turn up a young night snake, and an ugly little gopher snake. We also found a micro-den with 4 northern pacifics, none of which we were able to catch. Lizards were of coarse everywhere. The western pond turtles were out basking in force. We decided to head on down to Corvallis to see what was crackin, but it was raining.
