I do keep Shovelnose snakes, wish I was down in your part of the country more often.
Mine do well on superworms, crickets, and waxworms, superworms being the favored food. I keep them on two inches or so of vermiculite in the clear sweater boxes with a Cobra heat pad underneath one end. I've had a trio for years, though have had no success with breeding them, unfortunately.
They're fairly secretive, but come out every night. One of my favorite snakes.
