Cruised the shell roads in a local bottomland swamp WMA this afternoon from 5 to 6:30. Snakes are out. Three adult cottonmouths, one juvie cotton, and one juvie copperhead (first I've seen back in there). Also one adult watersnake, not sure on ID. All AOR except one adult cottonmouth alive in the water.
Very unusual to see more hots than non-hots back in there. It's usually a five to one or better margin in the other direction.
