:What is a good and affordable hook to start off with and where is a good place to get one from? (web sites)

You can make your own snake hook very easily, and very cheap too! First of all, you need a broom. Unscrew the broom off so you just have a broom stick. Then take a paint roller, and screw it on to to the broom stick. There you have it! This hook is a lot stronger than one would think, it can lift a full can of paint quite easily. It can also be used as a hiking stick, a pincone baseball bat;), a hockey stick, and more! It should cost you less than five bucks total for this design.

:Oh yeah speaking of lifting up garbage and flat boards etc. I see that some snake hooks are made especially for that but can't you do that stuff with a normal hook.

Yeah, you can.

Good luck!
James
