I use those 4 tiered Sterlite drawer stacks that you can get at a Family Dollar store for like $8. I started with a culture of 2000 mealies and produce just over 5000 on a steady basis (My geckos as well as my rats eat them.. I produce alot of rats and am now breeding Leopard Geckos) Anyway, You can start with 100.. but I recommend at least 400 as a starter colony.. that way you have feeders as well as breeders...It can take a month or two to start seeing results (not sure of the exact timing on egg hatch and stuff) But then it takes a while for them to grow.. so the more you start off with the better IMO. I've bred mealies off and on for the last 8 years and this always works for me.
