Snake seen in Majorca

Can anybody help me identify a snake I saw recently in Majorca. It was about 60-80cm in length, mid-brown with black patches which had white or cream centres. It was eating a frog which was caught in a nearby pond. Any help or pictures would be greatly appreciated.
