Future reference for anybody that loses a snake.....A few years back I had a small Ball python ( I almost renamed him Houdini) as he was only about 20" long and he somehow escaped from a 24" high tank with with lid... I still have no idea how... I searched for days in a house that was half finished and had lots of openings into the walls I was worried he was gone forever.. I looked on the net for ideas and mellisa Kaplans ideas were great.. but leaving flour or corn starch trails seemed a bit messy... I bought 10 rolls of thin scotch tape.. and left an outline everywhere.. all doorways, around appliances etc... sticky side up.. in the hopes of pointing in what direction the sneaky bugger had traveled.. first night after a couple of quick searches in the dark with a flash light.. I spotted a tape trail..( I am now a master tape trail tracker and will work for beer)... and found him wrapped around my mixmaster up on the counter (once again I have no idea how he climbed that counter) .. a few strips of tape and a huge collection of dust bunnies gave him a comical appearance.. he was looking as sheepish as a snake possible could.. I have since used this to help a friend that had lost their snake as well and it works exremely well...
