I was always curious about this. Would I have to prove that I've spent 1000 hours with my own animals? I guess you'd have to have someone else care for your stuff while you applied for the permit, and then ship them back to you. Anyway, with only 2 hots, it would take me a while to build up 1000 hours when I only spend about 5 minutes a week actually working with each of them (feeding, one minute, cleaning up, 4 minutes).
