I find this hard to believe since Bungarus fasciatus (Banded Krait) does occur in Thailand, and thirteen other Asian countries, but not Taiwan. Bungarus multicinctus (Many Banded Krait or Chinese Krait) occurs on Taiwan. Bungarus flaviceps the(Red-headed Krait), is the only species of Krait that I am aware of to be considered rare. In addition I know of numerous individuals who possess species of the genus Bungarus within their collections.

Cheers,

Derek K.
