:As far as from what I've been told, not many of these species are cannibalistic so therefore I shouldn't have to worry about one animal eating the other. Does this sound correct? of course the animals would be separated at feedings and allowed a "cool off" period much the same way I treat my breeder pair of FWCs.
:I've been reading as much literature about these guys as I can, but I've found some conflicted information. I know that eastern browns and Papuan taipans lay eggs. However, do all the species in the genus Pseudechis give live birth? This would include black snakes and king browns. According to Dorling Kindersley Handbooks: Reptiles and Amphibians, Pseudechis australis (king brown) can be live bearind of egg laying. What determines this? I'm assuming it's locality; if so, which species from which regions give live birth or lay eggs?
:Since almost all of these snakes have to be imported, which is the reason I'm wanting a pair of them so as to be only of the only people to produce c.b. in this country, which ones tend to come in in best quality and by which importers? ERJ tends to get black snakes and browns in pretty frequently, but I'm just checking. Also, which ones tend to fair the best? I've been told the Papuan taipans can be nightmares to get established and can make for very poor captives.
:Of course this purchase will be made well on down the road, as these snakes seem to be pretty costly and I'm definitely still in the learning stage, but I thought what the heck, I'd go ahead and ask a few questions about them. Thanks to anyone who might be able to help me out.
