Tom,

Last year, and recently, I gave my 7th & 8th graders an option to buy their own leopard frogs, or do a computer dissection, or do neither and submit a report on the natural history of the frog. I have had 100% paid participation in favor of the dissection, probabaly because the kids are interested in the most immediate and radical stimuli possible. Even if I wanted to do a computer dissection, we have one Mac LC580 in my classroom with old software, and with an average of 30+ kids per class, it's not really possible. My principal says it is the most parent-complimented science activity in the school each year- we use about 75 frogs a year.-K
