you definately need to get uvb on him needless to say. scroll down and read about the waterdragons who looked perfectly fine but were suffering severly from mbd. you def. don't want that to happen! also, the coloration usually dulls for about a week until the shedding is over with. temperature change can also change the shade of their color.
