It's normal and yes they calm down...give it some time. My male is just starting to let me handle him and the little female is still running! It's worth the wait though! My little Dundeee just fell asleep on my arm a couple of days ago...I just got him in January and it's May now....so try to ignore the fact that they run...and then when they stop running...try to pet them within their cage for a while. When you can accomplish this with no problems, then try to remove him/her slowly from the viv. Trust me, I never thought mine would calm down...and just when I was almost giving up...he was there looking at me from his viv door with a look that said "take me out"!

:Do the aussie dragons calm down with age? Or do they stay flighty as adults? Just wondering. I have a baby aussie and he flees when I approach his enclosure. I am not surprised but just wanted to know if they stay this way. Thanks to all those that reply.
