How do they sleep underwater?

:What does yours do when he goes in the water? When I first got mine she was extremely afraid of anything that moved and she would always run to the water for safety. It took a few months but she is starting to get used to me.


Mine doesn't seem to startle easily, although whenever he is fully submerged it's right when i come into the room. I came home one day and he was lying with his belly on the bottom. It was when I first got him so I thought he was dead. Since then I've seen him with his eyes closed fully submerged several times. he turns really dark, almost black or dark brown.
