:Hey All, I just wanted to share my excitement with everyone. I finally found my first Western Pygmy this evening at 7:30, and it was ALIVE, YEAH. 24 years of searching finally paid off. The funniest thing is that I found it in a habitat scenario much different than my minds eye view of good pygmy habitat. Before today I've never seen a pyg in the wild, alive or dead, so I only had book references to go by. This guy was far from any pine tree (or forest of any kind) or permanent water, it looked like habitat more suitable for atrox. Anyway, after a trip to Arizona earlier this year finding tigers and blacktails, and now this pyg, I'm hooked on crotalids. My next goal will be to find a massauga and a canebrake, any pointers for the DFW area will be appreciated. Sorry I don't have a pic, I'm still kicking myself for not taking my camera along. Shane
