:In adult C.c.cerastes the basal segment of the tail should be brown dorsal scale count of usually 21. On the other hand C.c.cercobombus basal tail segment should be black in adults and usually 21 dorsal scale rows .Not much difference seen more Sonoran winders then I could ever count and only a hand full of Mojave's so maybe that will help. Just in case C.c.laterorepens 23 dorsal scale rows and also the black basal segment of the tail! GOOD LUCK!!!
