It's so funny
Only three heads out of 12 eggs so far, (almost 24 hours later!) and I have actually been able to predict the second two by the huge wiff of smell! Like maybe it gets real strong right when they first break through or something. and it is a bit like green peppers! (I like em too, but to eat, not to sniff)lol;)
Pretty sure they're all normals so far, (probably all will be, i don't think many okeetee's are het for much these days other than amel, and if he was het amel, I would think most of them would be amel babies (mom being snow) So, we we first of the season:)?

:I think someone described it before as "similar to green peppers." (I dunno, I don't like green peppers, hehe.)

:On the Anerys, this is like deja vu. ;) I thought the same thing in 2000 when my first-ever clutches started pipping. (I think a lot of people do.)

:But in '01 I hatched anerys and didn't expect them. Recognition was immediate as soon as the first anery pipped. You'll just know, especially in a mixed clutch. They have no hints of any color, only black/brown/white. If they have even a hint of "pinkishness" on the tip of the nose, they're normals, and you'll catch that. ;) (At least that's my experience with 6 whole clutches containing anerys, hehe.)

:Oh, and I have to say, on behalf of those of us who had prior experience and went through a lot of effort to get early hatchlings this year, "NO FAIR!!!!" hehehehe
