If you get a different colour striped like for example, an anery striped, that'd be a gene that would get in the way when you're trying to breed for miami striped.

I'm not saying that it's impossible to do. But you'll be spending a lot longer trying to segregate the genes you don't want and trying to increase the genes you do.

So if I were undertaking the project to try and get striped miami's, I'd go for a normal striped individual who is hopefully not het for anything.
