I recently switched over a was-sick snake to rat pinkies. She was a skinny lil thang (still sorta is now), but in one feeding there was a marked difference in weight, musculature and activity from the snake.
IMHO, rat pups seem to be easier to digest than adult mice (no hair, no bony tail and feet).
They're also nicer to breed (if you're planning that route), and make excellent pets (I play with my rats tons, and they do so many tricks now it amazes me how they can only live for 4 years, fast learners I guess). Best thing about rats - no bickering between males, they sorta like each other and play with each other, instead of killing each other.

:i was looking into maybe switching my adults over to rat pups, they are about the same weight as adult mice, and the weanling rats the same (maybe a little heavier) as the jumbo mice, that I get now. I'm wondering if there's any real nutritional difference? Or difference in digestability? No real reason for me switching over, just interested in giving them something "different". Cost is so close it's not an issue either.
:Thanks in advance to lots and lots of replies;)
