I have done that too many a time with lizards but I always have a vague idea of what I'm looking for. I'm taking it for granted that any snake I buy will be lealthy, feeding, good-natured, etc. Even if it's the most beautiful snake I've ever seen it's no good if it ain't gonna live, let me handle it, etc, etc!
