I would like to breed 2 normals together, but both of the normal patterned ones are male. I plan to breed them again next year, so we will see what happens then.
:Katt, I don't think that's very likely in this case... even in bacteria, 'reversion', like spontaneous mutation happens about once in 1 x 10 -8 times (that's one in 10 million), and may be even more rarely. And it gets less likely the higher you go up the 'evolutionary ladder'. The likelyhood that this happened THREE times in these snakes is incredibly slight... each time they'd have to beat some huge odds for it to happen.
:That being said, I hvae no idea what could be causing this. Maybe other modifier genes are cropping up that are nullifying the stripe/motley/whatever effects in the snakes. I'd breed some of those 'normals' together and back to mom and/or dad when they're old enough and see what pops out.
