Actually, not all Sunglows use the hypo gene. Some lines are bred without it. That having been said, I wouldn't doubt that the hypo gene's presence could affect the look of an amel.
As for hypo snows, Don S. has theorized that hypo snows result in the coral snows he produces, though others disagree with that theory. I suppose one way to disprove it would be to produce a snow homozygous for hypo that did not show it as an adult. I don't know if this has been done or not.
I would say that we really don't know how the hypo and amel genes play together. It's not a common combination to try for, as alot of people are under the impression that just because we call one trait hypomelanism and another amelanism that there is no way for the hypo trait to have an effect while the amel trait is present. The truth is, hypo and amel are just names for what we think is happening. Giving a trait a name does not force it to behave according to the definitions of that name. Now if someone has some F2's of crossing an amel and a hypo, or a ghost and a snow... it'd be interesting to see what the double and triple (respectively) morphs look like.
