While some plants are toxic that's not always the reason they may not be recommended as safe for our lizards. Some plants have raphides or hairs on the leaves that can be irritants to them. One such plant is the "Sweetheart Philodendren" while this plant looks very similar to Pothos it does not have the same waxy leaf surface but raphides instead. This could be the reason to advise against the "lucky bamboo" the bamboo family is a true grass and grasses also have raphides. Just a thought.
