The danger in using home remedies is that unless you know exactly what is wrong you could do more harm than good. Eyes are easily damaged and the scars can blind your cham. If helping him flush it himself has not improved it after a couple of days a trip to a vet is needed. The vet should try to look into the eye with a scope for debris, injury, signs of infection etc. For eye flush I use sterile saline solution used by contact lens wearers. Don't apply any ointments or medications without a vet's diagnosis.
