More ?s about Panther Temps...

Stupid humidity! My coolmist humidifier chilled Orion's tank. The warmist one that I just got today seems to be HOT rather than "warm". I have ducting that narrow the mist to a 3" hole and points into his tank. Nice and misty, but the temp in the middle is about 85*F.
To create a temp gradient, what should the cool end of the enclosure be? I am going to buy some more thermometers (I mostly just measure the middle with a digital and the top has an analogue guage). The basking spot sits around 90-95*F. If 85 in the middle is ok, then I'm good to go. Otherwise, I will need MORE adjustments...
Any and all info appreciated.
