Simon, George VanHorn's Serpentarium would be a great place to acquire experience with reptiles especialy if you have a keen interrest in venomous herps! You may want to contact Gator Land and possibly the Central FL Zoo in Sanford. Flavio Morrissey would be a contact at Gator Land and Nick Clark would be a contact at the Central FL Zoo. Both should have email addresses and would probably welcome an email of interrest from you. As far as working at a pet store, Central FL does have it's share, however, your efforts may be better spent persuing education for yourself and educating others, rather than making some pet store owner money for your efforts. All of the places mentioned would be great for a herp enthusiest! Good luck!
